Written for my Mom by her co-worker after the passing of her Fiance’
You’re on the road – to no where
You have your foot – on the gas
Then you realize that you are going way to fast
As you approach a speed bump in the road
You can make it over
If you would only slow down your speed
Remember, Jesus is all you need
Keep the faith
It’s not a race
As you cry out to your GOD
Lord, just help me
Get over this speed bump in the road
No matter what road you take- God will direct your way
Don’t fret about the gloomy days- when you hark back
Thinking about all the speed bumps in the past
When you think you’re traveling in darkness
There will always be that light- to see you through
All the way – to the end of the tunnel
As you travel and hit the speed bumps in the road
Almost each and every day
There are many things to ponder
Your mind may start to wander
As you approach the speed bump in the road
You’ve traveled too far
You can’t turn around
You must keep forging on the entire day long
Until you find your destination
As you approach the speed bump in the road
Speed bumps have been around – since the beginning of time
And this won’t be the first one – which you will encounter in your life
No matter what tunnel that you drive through- or the roads you travel
Don’t fret about the gloomy days as you remember – just think of your destiny
There will always be that light at the end of the tunnel- if you only look for it – to help you make it through
As you travel and hit the speed bumps in the road
Almost each and every day
So, just take your time
Adjust your seat
Sit back and enjoy the ride
And you will see better days
As you approach another speed bump in your life- in the road
